Koolhaas is a Kool Haat! and STR spoiler!

koolhaas architechture...

I finished my Koolhaas last night. brooklyn tweed's pattern is simply gorgeous - easy to follow and easy to do. Just a little cabling knowledge and good to go. I am going to start another one in red Rowan Cashoft - I think these will go into my holiday gift bag. (wait - it's just been gifted to my little sister - looks great with her long hair, a perfect beanie!) My daughter has even requested a hat - after being my faithful model. I have a Meathead made up for her - but I need to felt a funky little flower. That's another post. Does anyone know if the Meathead pattern has been made available in a book yet? Just wondering.

another kool shot...

I also got my STR Rockin Socks kit this week. The colorway is Lenore - black and magenta - very Halloweenish, very elegant. I didn't like the plastic spiders in there - I just don't like spiders - plastic or otherwise. But the pattern is pretty amazing - it is by Ms. Yarn Harlot herself. Nice and interesting cuff and lace. A keeper.

confession...I ordered a hank of roving this week from zen string - I think I am hooking up with a drop spindle class. Funky Carolina makes me want to spin, spin, spin. Or try, right?

I sent out my Single Sock Liberation Movement pal package today. And I have recast on my Harvest Sock Pal's Jaywalkers again - that would be um, #4. Anyone ever hear that the fourth time's the charm? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Your Koolhaas is so kewl! I bought the mag just for that pattern...I know all about the Meathead pattern because I have been DYING to get my hands on it--it'll be in the Knitalong boo and was supposed to be out in Nov. but will be coming out this spring I believe, I am very excited for that I must say. I am also loving the STR package. And I am so impressed that you've sent out your package--I'm not even at the heel yet!

Nice job on the Koolhaas. Seriously, that's the only reason I bought the Christmas issue!

I love the Lenore. I'm on a total purple kick lately. Thankfully mine came today too. Otherwise, I'd be really, really jealous!

Love the hat! I'm so jealous of your STR! ;) The spiders wouldn't have bugged me (haha), as long as it wasn't snakes... *shudders*

Good luck with the jaywalkers! As soon as I successfully turn the heel on my firestarters I'm going to cast on for my HSS pal's firestarter. I just haven't had the brainpower to knit on them lately...

Dad may get one of those hats for Christmas if I can get to it quick enough. Now that you've mentioned it's easy he's even more likely to get one. Yours is lovely!

The meathead pattern should be in the book that's due out this spring, the "along" one. I think the last update on her blog said April.

THe Koolhaas is gorgous! I may be casting on for it. I also thank you for the link to stitch marker, cause she has a sweet bonnet I want to try.
I fell off the yarn wagon in a big way - but I have some lovely yarn for it.
I have to do one of two things with my Harvest sock (which is very unharvesty) frog or keep this one for me and start a brand new one. I may be starting a new one.

OMG I love that hat! Is it the architect in me? It reminds me of the atrium of the British Museum, too. LOVE it! I'm totally going to make myself one when I get a few other projects under control.

The STR is beautiful and that pattern rocks. I think you'll have lots of fun with it.

As for the Harvest Sock. Yep, 4th time will be the charm. I'm sure of it. I'll be sending you lots of perfect gauge thoughts so you don't hate me for sucking you into it. :)

Koolhaas is beautiful, as is the STR. Feeling your pain about the Harvest sock--I think my whole family breathed a sigh of relief when I finished that one! :)

I love your Koolhaas. Though it looks very time consuming. ldwjrx I have been to three LYS's and everyone is sold out of the IK Holidy. Now I'm even more determined to find it!

The Koolhaas is tres cool. I just picked up the mag this weekend and am keen to make one for the husband, but don't have any worsted weight yarn around for it. Wonder if DK would work...

Love the hat...so pretty! Wish I had that issue of the magazine so I could make it too. I don't think it's available over here in Korea, though I'll have to try looking for it the next time I'm in Seoul...which will hopefully be before Christmas...
