*warning* ADD post ahead

ADD in that I can't seem to stay on topic, so hang on and stay with me.

I finished my first Firestarter today - I am in love with the crazy-unique gusset. It was really interesting to knit and the heel way kicked the ass of a short row version in my opinion. And the traveling cables along the foot and leg - gorgeous!

And then, I just ordered Yarnissima's Fratello kit today - more Wollmeise, more wonderful gusset architecture. I am so weak.

I took my eldest daughter Halloween costume shopping today. The original plan was to hit Jo-Ann fabrics for a pattern, she wanted to be a genie. We found a cool pattern but the immediate gratification of a crap "store bought" costume was more appealing, so she voted for something from a big box store. I am so sad. Yes, buying something off the rack saves me time and may actually save me money - but where is the pleasure in that? Ah, I was 7 once.

Has anyone seen Pushing Daisies? A new show on ABC? The narrator's details, combined with the colorful settings are so Lemony Snicket - I really dig it. And tonight one of the male leads was knitting - yes, knitting (and a burly, manly dude, to boot) - the narrator said stockinette and purling - love. Though I am curious to see how far the producers can go on the premise...we'll see.

Last night I turned on PD, but my college roommate called, so I'll end up watching it on-line, but I saw enough to see the knitting. As I mentioned on the KAL - great sock!

I didn't even notice on the SAL that that was your sock! lol It looks great in the blue; no advice about the hole, I'm not finished with my gusset yet. I'm hoping it comes out the right length for my stubby feet...

Isn't it sad when our kids want the cheapo version instead of the quality heirloom stuff? We've successfully steered ours to family costumes once again (of course at 2 & 4 they're still highly impressionable!). DH has been talking them up for months...now I get to sew a pink princess dress for my slightly overweight self; fun. ;)

I did watch Pushing Daisies for the first time last night and found it strangely interesting. Even my 15 yr old son liked and we will be watching it again next week. I thought it was cool that they had the big guy knitting. Knitters Rock!

Your Firestarter ROCKs! Really cool! (I feel like a broken record but I really need to start mine)

Yes, I watched Pushing Daisies. Well kind of, my husband didn't like it so we watched something else - next time I'll have to put my foot down :) - I did see the knitting though! I laughed! He actually knit himself some gun holsters (or whatever you call them). I LOVE IT!

Love the sock!

I haven't seen Pushing Daisies but you reminded me that I wanted to mention on my blog where I saw some television knitting: Tori & Dean: Inn Love. Woot!

I caught an episode or two one night this week and they showed both Tori and Dean knitting on the porch of their B&B.

We're totally into Pushing Daisies - my husband called it Tim Burton's Law & Order. It's the best casting of any of the new shows this season - there's so much chemistry. Loved it.

The best part of the knitting was all the little weird cozies he'd been making. But the gun holster on top of his sweater vest. Awesome.

Great firestarters. The more I see this pattern knitted up, the more I want to knit it. For me, that's the mark of a great pattern.

Great Firestarter Peaknit! I swear I will start mine this week. I will take advantage of your link for Fratello because he more I see it, the more I want it. I think I like it better than Firestarter. Pushing Daisies is a greta show, such a great change of pace. I love the "Voice".

Oh my gosh! Someone else picked up on the "knitted gun holster" on Pushing Daises too! I immediately grabbed my friend and had his get his pistol (bullets out, of course) and decided to make my own pattern. It will need a little tweaking, but i think it will work! I was so glad that two of my favorite things combined! Knitting and Pushing Daises!
