Capitan meets J-Lo

capitan2

I made a Capitan hat this weekend in a chunky Malabrigo in Cactus Flower - mmm, like bubblegum. Seems very fitting for my almost 8-year-old. It would never fit my noggin anyways, and it was fun making a quick hat for her. A couple of sittings and voila - a hat! Isn't it so fun?! It reminds me of a slouchy newsboy J-Lo would have been wearing...you know, when she was just Jenny from the block. What a great free pattern, thank you Rosi G.

Sweet little hat! I love the color, and your daughter looks adorable in it! It reminds me of a fancy Cadet hat! :)

PS - I love instant gratificatio projects, and I'm working on one myself now!

I think that the Capitan hat looks much cuter on kids than adults--too cute!

That looks cute on her. I'd like to knit more of those this coming winter. I did my 'test' one just using acrylic :-/ I'd like to use some nice yarn next time. I think my 7 yr old daughter would look cute in it and it would make nice gifts for her 7 yr old friends too ;)
