Leapin' Mother!

20071231_1433

It's my mom's birthday today - this is only her 14th birthday. Having a leap year birthday always seemed clever to me but I can see where the mystique could be lost on someone who actually only gets a "real" birthday every four years...

Anyways - Happy Birthday mom! I could go on and on, but I hope you know you are a pretty great mom. And for as much as we had our differences when I was a teenager and I said "I'll never do that to my kids" - I doubt myself every day as a parent when I think I may pale in comparison to you - your style was strict to a fault but I could never doubt I was loved, not ever. You rock!

Your mom looks so sweet. I'm trying to figure out how old she is really - I think I got it ;-)
I have a friend who has a 20 yr old that is 5 today! I think it's kinda neat having a leap year birthday, I mean you still get to have a birthday every year (probably on Feb 28 or mar1) but then every 4 years you get a REALLY SPECIAL day! Much better than say having to share your birthday if you're a twin, and having some people send you one card between you (err yeah, that would be me!!!!).
Have a super day.

Very cool. Happy birthday you teenage Mom!

Our 1st wedding anniversary is today. But unlike your mom, we got to CHOOSE this day. :)

We live in Madison too! So much in common...

Ms. Lois

Happy Birthday!! Glad to see you can actually celebrate your "real" B-day. Peanut said she is coming to your house for pizza tonight, however I am quite certain she would MUCH rather have BBQ's and potato salad - a REAL birthday fest!

Enjoy,
Geri (Pancake)

Happy Birthday to your Mom!

It's amazing how we can argue and fight with our parents when we are young, and then find so much of them in us when we are older! Makes me think about what I'm doing now that will affect my children later.......oh I'm being way too serious! Happy Leap Year!

Oh poop, that didn't sound right - I'm not doing anything harmful now to my children, I just meant that I wonder what habits of mine they will pick up and wish they didn't (like spit-washing their faces). We don't use corporal punishment in our house, FPS! Sorry. Didn't want anyone to think I'm a wacko! Too late, huh? :)

You mum looks lovely!

I can hear my mum every day when I say certain things to my kids, and they look at me in exactly the same way I did.

Happy B-day to your mom! That's a great picture. She's totally adorable. Feb. 29 is the b-day of my mom's best friend. I think she turned 16 this year. :)
