don't let the door hit you on the way out
Inspired by my blogless friend, Christine to organize a bit - I have frogged. I feel liberated.
from these.... to these....
I frogged an Estonian sock that was too baggy, a Chevron scarf that was too tedious, and a february baby sweater that I lost track of (and the yarn was too special to give away).
I also finished a couple of quick projects since Christmas..
A Turn a Square hat to match some mitts and a Thermis Cowl. I love the hat - I had to make it after seeing Sheepishone's. I am not sure about the cowl - only because I think the yarn may not have been the perfect choice. But I have gotten some nice feedback, so maybe I am wrong.
And I have squeezed in one last book...
The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie Farrell. I chose it because it was short-ish. I enjoyed it. There were some twists and turns that kept things interesting - it probably could have been longer.
I am glad to see 2008 come to a close. It has been positively crazy busy at work, and I am starting getting ornery about it. I will be glad for a new leaf. And a new project.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year!
Glad I could be a source of inspiration. you'll feel much better without those hanging over you :) What was the final book count for 2008?
Oh, I shall be frogging in the new year too!!! It does feel good, doesn't it!!
Love the hat and cowl!!
Wishing you a very happy happy new year!!
oh, i SO need to frog a couple of my hibernating projects: the first is a pair of boring ol' socks and then i need to rip and re-start my slouchy cardi.
acer! yay! i can't wait to see it. after your february lady, i know you'll rock acer.
That's a great way to get ready for the new year. Happy 2009 to you!
I love the title of this post! The colors in that hat are amazing, and the cowl is very nice. I hope you and the family have a very Happy New Year!
Love your new hat and cowl!
I have to do the frogging ritual myself. I'm tired of things left undone, making me feel guilty, causing startitis, etc....the list goes on...
Wishing your family a very happy 2009!
I am debating between that sweater and a February Lady's sweater for my next "big" project.
The had is beautiful.
Good for you for frogging! I have a few I really should do. I tend to get upset when something doesn't turn out quit right so I basically hide it in a bag somewhere in my craft room and try to forget about it. I really should reuse the yarn. Maybe I will do that for 09.
Happy New Year! Best for you in 2009!
Frogging is such an awesome feeling, is it not? I've got a few to deal with in that department. I love the cowl and now you've inspired me to make one!! Happy New Year:)
Congrats on the frogging. Feels good, huh?
Happy New Year!!
Oooh, you're going to do Acer? I've been thinking about that one. I miss my maple trees. (I suppose I should finish Henley first though...)
I likke your Flickr mosaic - you're right, there are a lot of nice ones floating around the internet!
I think that cleaning out the WIP basket is one of the best things a knitter can do for her self. (Especially when a special yarn is not living up to its especialness!)
No guts, no glory, right?
