a little accessory and then some vacation...

Rosebud - pattern by Jared Flood, yarn Plucky Knitter Primo Worsted in Memories

I finished this little Rosebud hat last month. I saw Sarah's and had to jump on board. I think I knit it between a few of football games - it was so addictive.

Then we went on vacation this month. We have been blessed to go to Florida every October for the past four - sometimes with our kids, sometimes without. This was a "without" year and consisted almost entirely of eating and laying by water. It was pretty perfect. Though, I admit, I have a bit of a hyper personality at times - relish in multi-tasking - so I had to really dial back and practice my yoga breathing to just relax...Anyways, for the past three vacations I have knit socks, Kirsten of Through the Loops has had a Mystery Sock Along for Socktober. This year she was so busy, she can't get to this awesome freebie until January - so I decided to re-enact one of her past patterns. I also decided to add to the challenge and try magic loop just to shake it up. Okay, I am (was) a die hard dpn'er. die. hard. Well, I think I have a new boyfriend, my #1 40" circular - me and magic loop are tight now. It was so fun, and kind of fast. If you thought continental alone on dpn's was fast - this is faster.

Voila! My finished socks in Plucky Primo Headboard.

These were going to be a holiday gift for my mom but then...bum bum bum...I added an extra 8 row repeat in the leg AND the foot of the second one - somehow I was loving my new boyfriend so much, I couldn't stop. Anyways, they are perfect for me, my favorite color and all AND can't really be a gift - with one being a little taller and a little longer - only a savvy knitter would notice but I'll keep my shoes on all the same. Win. Win. people.

This is me relaxing on Sanibel, we rented bikes from Billy's Bikes - it was fun. Unfortunately, that relaxed looking broad is now a memory - back to the rat race.

How nice you got to get away for a little while! Sounds like a ton of fun. Lovely knits, too, as always. :) (Don't blame you for keeping the socks!)
