Come On, Get Happy!
a book by Gretchen Rubin.

the start of a happy quilt by me.
I started reading this book, and then started sewing this quilt - and I can see there is a connection. The book is about finding happy. Just that, happy. We can all be a little happier - me being no exception. The book is a guide to bringing more simple joy into your life - and there is a blog for more motivation too. My April resolutions started with ::
1. listening to less angry music
2. more walking
Sounds pretty simple right?
I started quilting along with a quilt along, and realized that my blocks have little in the way of method, but lots in the way of fun - the colors and prints make me feel good - because I have been feeling good. Darling Heather Ross prints in the middle of shiny, happy strips. I am hopeful that working on this quilt will float me merrily into warm weather - til then I will focus on other ways to keep "happy "going - like walking and giving up heavy metal. How about you?

Those blocks are happy indeed! I'll have to check out this book. Let's see I think I could stand to listen to a bit less news and walk more as well. And go to bed earlier!
I love your quilt. I guess I need to add another pattern to my to do list.
I've just started reading that book, too! I've read the author's blog for some time and one of my favorite pieces of advice she's given is to act how you want to feel. Smile and act cheerful to others, and you'll start to feel happy! Totally works.

The book sounds neat, and the squares look wonderfully cheerful and happy!
Such a simple yet awesome concept. More and more, I find myself being drawn to the upbeat and cutting the negative out of my life.
